SYOSSET, New York – The Long Island Gulls, the longest running youth hockey program on Long Island, is proud to announce the addition of Mark Lotito to the organization. Mark will be the Head Coach of the Gulls U18 Midget team for the 2014/2015 season as well as be responsible for the Gulls' Bantam and Midget player development program. Lotito will serve on the Gulls’ staff effective immediately by providing assistance to the Gulls U16 Midget team.
“I am grateful for the tremendous opportunity to focus on player development at the Midget and Bantam levels while being Head Coach of the U18 team, and I look forward to continuing the success of an already hockey rich organization,” said Lotito.
“With the great staff already in place, we hope to accomplish the goals that make an organization successful. Helping players fine tune their abilities on and off the ice will provide the tools for them to move up the ladder of development.”
Lotito is currently a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach and has over 15 years of coaching and playing experience under his belt.
“What appealed to me was getting the opportunity to work with a staff, as well as management that is committed to continuously doing the things needed to take the program to the next level” Lotito said. “Also having a state of the art rink to work with players on and off the ice giving them the opportunity to be the very best they can be, is extremely beneficial.”
The Staten Island, NY native has coached at the Junior and High School before coming to the Gulls, and has assisted in the advancement of players to collegiate and pro hockey levels.
